Let’s be real — parenting is beautiful, but it’s also brutal sometimes.
There are days we feel like superheroes. We pull off school runs, deadlines, tantrums, and dinner all before sunset. And then there are days we feel we are completely failing at this thing called parenting.
But here’s the thing no one tells you enough:
Parenting is tough for everyone.
Yes, EVERYONE!!!
Behind every perfect Instagram reel and confident school gate smile, there’s a mum or dad wondering if they’re doing enough… or doing it right.
Why So Many Parents Struggle in Silence
A 2022 study published in The Journal of Child and Family Studies found that over 70% of parents admitted to feeling judged or inadequate in their parenting — especially when their child was acting out in public. And 6 in 10 said they avoided asking for help because they didn’t want to be seen as a “bad parent”.
Can you relate?
There’s this unspoken pressure to have it all together. To never admit we’re overwhelmed. To pretend we know exactly what to do when, really, we’re all just winging it with love, Google, and prayer and hoping for the best!
But you weren’t meant to do this alone.
The Strength of Parenting Together
Community changes everything.
When we’re surrounded by others who get it —people who understand the messy, magical, maddening mix that parenting is — we breathe easier. We stop pretending. We start growing.
In fact, research from the Harvard Centre on the Developing Child shows that parents with strong support networks are more likely to be emotionally available, patient, and consistent with their children. That means the community doesn’t just help you — it helps your child thrive too.

Let Me Tell You Something Personal…
As a parenting coach, I’ve walked alongside parents from all walks of life. And the one thing that’s always the same?
Even the most “put-together” parents have moments of doubt, tears, and feeling lost. I feel like that sometimes too.
I’ve sat in rooms with mums who feel invisible and dads who feel like they’re failing — and every single one just wanted to be seen. To know they weren’t alone. And that’s why I created spaces where parents can breathe, share, laugh, cry, and grow without judgement.
Practical Ways to Build Your Parenting Community/Village
If you’re thinking, “But I don’t have a community like that…” — you’re not alone. Many parents feel the same way. But the good news is you can build your own village — one step at a time.
Here are 7 practical, real-life ways to start:
1. Start With One Honest Conversation
Choose one parent you know — maybe at school pick-up, church, or the park and be brave enough to go beyond the surface. A simple “Hey, parenting has been hard lately; how are you coping?” can open the door to a deeper connection.
2. Start a No-Judgement Group
Start a group with a few trusted parents. Keep it simple: meet for coffee, share resources, encourage one another, laugh about the madness, and ask for help when needed. It doesn’t need to be big — just real.
3. Ask for Help (Yes, Really)
Asking for help doesn’t make you weak — it makes you wise. Involve your family and friends. Let someone pick up your child from school, drop off dinner, or just listen. Vulnerability invites community in.
4. Attend Parenting Workshops or Events
Look out for local or virtual events where parents gather. Our Intentional Parenting Bootcamp is designed not just to teach but to connect. People often come for the content but stay for the community.
You’re Not the Only One. And You Don’t Have to Be.
If you’re still struggling to find a community, why not join mine? I host a free WhatsApp community for parents, where I offer support and inspiration to parents.
It’s a safe space to rediscover your strength, reframe your parenting journey, and connect with others who are on the same path.
